Spring Relay 2018
The last time we signed up for the Spring Relay was three years ago in 2015. It was before we were married (or engaged!). It’s a couples relay race that takes place in Central Park every May. The events include a 12 mile bike ride (2 loops around Central Park), a 2.2. mile run, followed by a .75 mile row in the Central Park row boats by the Boathouse. We signed up in 2015 excited for the row only to learn days before the race that the rowing portion that year was canceled due to some issues with the dock. We were totally bummed, especially since we bought a GoPro just to capture the silliness.
Fast forward three years and we’re back! We signed up and this year we got to bike, run, AND row! Andrey biked, Karen ran, and Andrey rowed our way to the finish. We used our GoPro again, too. This year there we had a bit of drama when Andrey’s bike chain fell off right at the start.
